Congratulations to Grass Lake High School Senior Emily Fonzi who has signed a National Letter of Intent to run cross country and track at Division I Western Michigan University during the 2017-2018 school year. Well done Emily, and good luck!
Coach Taylor Named Girls Coach of the Year
Congratulations to Grass Lake Varsity Cross Country Coach Jennifer Taylor for being named the Jackson County Girls Cross Country Coach of the Year at the J. Chris Jensen Cross Country Banquet on Monday, November 7. Well done Coach! We are very proud of the accomplishments of the 2016 team.
Emily Fonzi 11th Among All Seniors at MHSAA Finals
Grass Lake High School Senior Emily Fonzi was the sole Grass Lake runner to compete in the MHSAA Lower Peninsula Cross Country State Finals on Saturday, November 5, at Michigan International Speedway. Emily finished a very respectable 63rd out of 237 runners, and 11th among all seniors running. We are very proud of Emily's performance at this meet, and for her team's successes throughout the year.
Emily Fonzi Qualifies for State Meet
Congratulations to GLHS Senior Emily Fonzi for finishing in second place at the MHSAA Regional Cross Country meet last Saturday at Ella Sharp Park. Her finish qualifies her to run in the MHSAA Lower Peninsula State Finals meeting being held Saturday, November 5, at the Michigan International Speedway. Another notable finish was by Freshman Katie Colesa who finished in 17th place at Regionals missing the State qualifiying by just two spots. Way to go Katie!
Girls Cross Country Wins Conference Championship
Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Cross Country team for winning the Cascades Conference Championship, and to Emily Fonzi for winning the overall championship. This is the first GL conference championship in cross country since 1998! This championship brings home the second conference championship this fall for GLHS. Go Warriors!
